Taraka was previously called Moneta. Only the name changed — it is the same app from the same developer, and nothing in these terms changed with the rename.
Taraka is a personal finance-tracking tool for your own record-keeping. It is provided free and “as is.” It is not financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and it does not move, hold, or manage any money. You are responsible for your own financial decisions and for keeping your own backups. By installing or using Taraka you agree to these terms.
Taraka helps you record and visualise your own transactions, wallets, budgets, and goals. Any numbers, charts, currency conversions, receipt text-recognition results, or projections it shows are informational only and may be incomplete or inaccurate.
Taraka is not a financial institution, adviser, or money-transfer service. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and nothing in the app is a recommendation to make any financial decision. Consult a qualified professional before acting on your finances.
Taraka is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement, to the maximum extent permitted by law. The developer does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that any data, calculation, or currency rate is accurate or current.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, savings, or goodwill, or for any financial loss or decision, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) Taraka — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the greater of the amount you paid for the app (which is zero for the free app) or the minimum amount required by applicable law.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty or liability exclusions, so some of the above may not apply to you; in that case the exclusions apply to the fullest extent permitted.
Optional features rely on third parties, each governed by its own terms and privacy policy: Google (Sign-In and Drive backup), EmailJS (PIN-recovery emails), and ExchangeRate-API (currency rates). The developer is not responsible for those services. See the Privacy Policy for what data each receives and when.
Your use of Taraka is also governed by the Privacy Policy, which explains what the optional features collect and how to delete your data.
The Taraka name, brand, and app are the developer’s. Your financial data is yours. Taraka uses open-source software under their respective licenses.
These terms may change; material changes will be noted by the date above and, where relevant, in the in-app “What’s new”. You may stop using Taraka at any time by uninstalling it; see the Privacy Policy for deleting your data.
These terms are governed by the laws of the developer’s place of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, except where mandatory consumer-protection law in your country of residence applies. Nothing here limits any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer.
